Lech Zurs am Arlberg, Austria
Lech Zurs in the Vorarlberg region, a place with village flair, lots of charm, a long history and an extensive winter programme, in effect from 27 November 2009 until 25 April 2010.
The Vorarlberg region enjoys an outstanding reputation among skiers and snowboarders from all over the world and, as the birth-place of alpine skiing, boasts a long tradition. As far back as 1906, the first slopes were carved from the snow and the first ski school was opened here in 1925. With just one pass, visitors today can make use of 84 cable railways and ski lifts, 280 km of pistes and 180 kilometres of diverse downhill ski tracks. With the Arlberg Card, you can have fun and excitement on the slopes, while buses make it easy for winter sports enthusiasts to get around.
Lech Zürs, one of the 12 acclaimed members of the ‘Best of the Alps,’ has even more to offer. Numerous events provide cultural, sporting and culinary surprises, sun terraces beckon to après-ski, small boutiques entice visitors to shop, while the wide range of activities on offer, such as ice skating, curling, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking, tennis and horse-drawn sleighing make your winter holiday into an adventure for the whole family. Especially designed for snow worshippers without skis, the Arlberg region also offers the "Sunshine subscription" lift pass.
