Cape Town
Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town is the third most populous city of South Africa and is home of the South African National Parliament. The name Cape Town derives from the Cape of Good Hope, which is located 45 km to the south. Central Cape Town, the oldest part of the city, is situated between Table Mountain and Table Bay. The earthTV camera is installed in the middle of Cape Town’s harbour area on top of the Nedbank Building. From there, it will have a nice view over the waterfront on Table Bay as well as over the harbour and the city itself. The most famous sights of Cape Town are Table Mountain, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and Robben Island.

The Great Escarpment sweeps the southern and eastern region of the country. 300 km west of Durban is the kingdom of Lesotho, a separate country entirely within the political boundaries of South Africa.
Key aspects of tourism
Tourism is quite important for South Africa. Popular tourist destinations are Sun City with Pilanesberg National Park, Kruger National Park, Cape Town with Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope, the Garden Route and the sandy beaches around Durban.
