Geographic Information

Ukraine is in Eastern Europe with a Black Sea coastline. Its neighbouring countries are the Russian Federation, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. The Ukrainian landscape is made up of fertile plains or steppes and plateaus, crossed by rivers such as the Dnieper, Donets, Dnister and the Southern Bug. To the Southwest, the delta of the Danube forms the border with Romania. Mountainous areas include the Carpathian Mountains and regions on the Crimean peninsula in the South.
