MEWAR FESTIVAL IN UDAIPUR

The earthTV camera shows the most beautiful impressions from the colourful Mewar Festival in Udaipur.

The Mewar Festival in Udaipur welcomes the advent of spring. The Mewar Festival (March 18-20) coincides with the Festival of Gangaur - where women dress up and participate in the festival at Lake Pichola.

A part of the celebrations is religious: A procession carries pictures through the city of Udaipur. At Lake Pichola, the pictures are transferred to boats. After the religious part of the festival, the cultural part starts. Songs are being sung, the people are dancing and there are different performances. The festival ends with a large firework display. The earthTV camera shows the colourful goings-on in the city of Udaipur and the women in their coloured clothes.
