Geographical Features:
The People's Republic of China covers seven per cent of the world's land area, almost half of it mountains (in the west) and a large portion plains (in the east). Its deserts include the Gobi and two giants in Xinjiang Province, the Taklimakan and Gurbantunggut Deserts.
