In 2009, Abu Dhabi has been host to a Formula 1 Grand Prix for the first time. For this purpose, a completely new circuit with a whole infrastructure around it, the Yas Marina Circuit, was built on Yas Island..

The circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke who also designed the race track in Bahrain. Yas Marina Circuit has a total length of 5.6 km, and the maximum that a racing car can reach is about 320 km/h. Abu Dhabi has already been accepted to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix for the next 7 years, and this important event will for sure attract a lot of spectators from all over the world. .

In addition to the race track, visitors will find many hotels, restaurants and other entertainment facilities such as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, with a total area of 200,000 m² the world’s largest indoor theme park, on Yas Island.

Another highlight of Abu Dhabi is the 11 km long Al Raha Beach. Along its coastline the so-called “Ultimate Waterfront City”, a separate district with unique residential and business premises as well as education and entertainment facilities, is being constructed. The convenient access to Abu Dhabi’s city centre, the airport and the motorway to Dubai makes it a unique area that can be reached either by water or by land. Numerous attractive hotels, a variety of beaches, marinas and shopping possibilities complete the picture.

The earthTV camera is installed on the rooftop of the “Rotana Hotel” on Yas Island and provides a stunning view over the entire race track, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Al Raha Beach.
