The former dependent territory of the United Kingdom (now: Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) is located in China. The earthTV camera is looking at Central Victoria and shows the Convention & Exhibition Centre, the districts Wan Chai and Tsim Shai Tsui, Victoria Peak, the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade and of course the creative skyscraper illumination (e.g. during Christmas season) and breathtaking fireworks.

Geographic Information
The name 'Hong Kong' is derived from Hong Kong Island in the South China Sea, at the mouth of the Xi Jiang (Pearl River) of southern China. Other territories that were later added include the Kowloon Peninsula and the New Territories, which include over 200 surrounding islands. The landscape is fairly hilly to mountainous with steep slopes, though lowlands exist in the north. Only 25% of Hong Kong are developed. The remaining 75% are set aside as country parks and nature reserves.
